After breakfast, bid farewell to the highlands and begin your scenic descent into the Northern Frontier District. The air warms as you cross the equator and enter the semi-arid landscape of Samburu National Reserve. Check in at Ashnil Samburu Camp for lunch by the Ewaso Nyiro River. Your first afternoon game drive introduces you to the park’s unique dry-country birds, including the Buff-crested Bustard and the stunning Golden-breasted Starling.

Dedicate two full days to exploring the rich biodiversity of Samburu. Start with early morning drives to catch active predators and ground birds.
