Day 1-2: Nairobi – Meru National Park
Depart Nairobi at 7:00 AM and drive directly to Meru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have some time to relax before embarking on an afternoon game drive in this untamed wilderness until dusk. Meru National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including cheetahs, hippos, zebras, giraffes, hartebeests, oryx, oribi, waterbucks, and many more.

Dinner and overnight stay at Meru Ikweta Hotel & Lodges.

Day 3: Meru National Park – Mt. Kenya Safari Club
Start the day with an early morning game drive in search of the wildlife that this area is famous for. After breakfast, depart for the Mt. Kenya Safari Club, which is located on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. The club has been frequented by many celebrities, including William Holden, who once owned it.

Lunch will be at leisure. While game drives are not conducted here due to the dense environment, there are plenty of activities available, such as horse riding, guided nature walks, and visits to the zigzagging puzzle, where many weddings are held. This property has been voted the 8th best resort in the world.

Dinner and overnight stay at Comfort Inn.

Day 4: Mt. Kenya – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, which is world-renowned for its flamingos. The lake is alkaline and recognized as one of the Natural Wonders of the World. You’ll arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, embark on a comprehensive game drive through this scenic park, including visits to viewpoints that offer superb photo opportunities. Lake Nakuru supports a wide diversity of wildlife, including flamingos, white rhinos, buffalo, and over 450 bird species.

Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Eagle Palace.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Kakamega Forest
Depart Lake Nakuru and drive to Kakamega Forest, an isolated remnant of the equatorial rainforest that once spread across Africa. The forest is home to an excellent variety of bird, animal, and plant species, including an array of primates. The forest’s rich avifauna includes two globally threatened species: Chapin’s Flycatcher and Turner’s Eremomela. It also boasts large populations of black-and-white colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys.

Dinner and overnight stay at Rondo Retreat Center.

Day 6-7: Kakamega Forest
Spend two full days exploring the easternmost extension of the great tropical rainforest, renowned for its incredible birdlife. Species you may encounter include Turner’s Eremomela, Black-billed Turaco, Great Blue Turaco, Cameroon Sombre Greenbul, Little Grey Greenbul, Yellow-bellied Wattle-eye, Purple-throated Cuckoo, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Grey-breasted Illadopsis, African Grey Parrot, Square-tailed Drongo, and Chapin’s Flycatcher.

Lunch, dinner, and overnight stay at Rondo Retreat Center.

Day 8: Kakamega Forest – Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, check out from the retreat and proceed to Maasai Mara (approximately a 5-hour drive). Arrive at the camp in time for lunch. Maasai Mara, an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, is one of Kenya’s best-loved reserves and is famous for the Great Migration. After lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive to spot the “Big Five”—lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino, and leopard—as well as many other animals.

Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Orngatuny King Camp.

Day 9: Full Day in Maasai Mara
Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Maasai Mara, one of the most exciting wildlife ecosystems. The scenic savannah plains and moderate climate make this a perfect location for spotting a wide variety of wildlife, including the Big Five. We will enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara River, where you can watch hippos and crocodiles.

Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Orngatuny King Camp.

Day 10: Exploring Maasai Mara
After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch. Maasai Mara is well-known for its black-maned lions, and this reserve is one of the few places where you have the chance to see the Big Five on a single morning drive. For bird enthusiasts, nearly 500 species have been recorded, including eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, storks, bustards, and sunbirds.

Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 11: Maasai Mara – Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, check out and leave for Amboseli National Park, stopping in Nairobi for lunch. Upon arrival in Amboseli, check in and relax before an evening game drive. Amboseli is famous for its scenic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro and is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close.

Dinner and overnight stay at Amboseli Penety Resort.

Day 12-13: Exploring Amboseli National Park
Rise early to enjoy views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds form over the summit. A packed lunch will be provided. After breakfast, an optional visit to a Maasai village can be arranged (at an extra cost), offering a glimpse into their daily lives and culture. Amboseli is one of the best places in Africa to view elephants up close as they feed and bathe in the swamps.
