Overview
A comprehensive 8-day Kenya wildlife safari: Ol Pejeta Conservancy (home to the last two northern white rhinos, with Big Five and chimpanzee sightings), Lake Nakuru (pink flamingos and a rhino sanctuary), the Maasai Mara (Big Five, big cats and the Great Migration), Lake Naivasha (boat safaris, birdlife and hippos) and Amboseli, famous for its elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Prices shown are low-season rates per person (January to June). July to October rates per person: USD 3,259 (2 guests), 2,615 (4 guests), 2,402 (6 guests).
Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Your tour starts with pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport and a drive to Ol Pejeta, about 3.5 to 4 hours from Nairobi. Arrive around noon, check into your lodge/camp, have a hot lunch and then head out for your first game drive. Ol Pejeta is home to the "Big Five" animals (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo). After the game drive, return to the lodge/camp by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared dinner. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast checkout and depart to Lake Nakuru National Park which is about 3.5 to 4 hours drive from Ol Pejeta. Check into your lodge at Nakuru, have lunch and depart for afternoon game drives. After game drives till around 6:00 PM, we proceed to your camp/lodge for a freshly prepared dinner. Overnight stay at your camp/lodge.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast checkout and depart to Masai Mara which is about 5 hours drive from Lake Nakuru. Check into your lodge/camp at Masai Mara, have lunch and depart for afternoon game drives. After the game drive, we head back to lodge/camp, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared dinner. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve
Today's itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today's schedule. You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon or you can depart on an early morning game drive (this is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness a hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. You will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast checkout and depart to Lake Naivasha which is about 5 hours drive.
Check in to your camp/lodge for lunch and then proceed to Hell's Gate National Park for a guided game drive. Later head back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Lake Naivasha to Amboseli National Park
Start your drive to Amboseli and check in for lunch. Set out for a guided game drive in the evening while enjoying the beauty of the sunset, the view of Mount Kilimanjaro and large herds of elephants grazing in the park. Later head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Amboseli National Park
Today's itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today's schedule. You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon. Or you can depart on an early morning game drive (this is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness a hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. You will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Amboseli to Nairobi
After breakfast, check out from camp and proceed to Nairobi to reach by noon.
