Overview
A 12-day Kenya safari that links the northern plains of Samburu and the rhino sanctuary of Ol Pejeta with Lake Nakuru, the Maasai Mara, the birdlife of Kakamega Forest and the elephants of Amboseli. A relaxed, wide-ranging itinerary with extra nights in the Mara and Amboseli for unhurried game drives.
Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
You depart Nairobi and drive to Samburu. After checking in at Samburu Ashnil Camp and having lunch, you go on an afternoon game drive to explore the reserve. Dinner and the night are at Samburu Ashnil Camp.
Day 2: Samburu National Park – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
You go on an early morning game drive to explore the park, then check out and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. After checking in at Sweetwaters Camp and having lunch, you go on an afternoon game drive to explore the conservancy. Dinner and the night are at Sweetwaters Camp.
Day 3: Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Lake Nakuru National Park
You have breakfast and departure for Lake Nakuru National Park, then enjoy a game drive en route. After checking in at Nakuru Top Cliff Camp and having lunch, you go on an afternoon game drive to explore the park. Dinner and the night are at Nakuru Top Cliff Camp.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park – Maasai Mara National Reserve
You check out and drive to Maasai Mara, then stop en route at Narok town for lunch. After checking in at Mara Sekenani Camp and having lunch, you go on an afternoon game drive to explore the reserve. Dinner and the night are at Mara Sekenani Camp.
Day 5: Full Day Exploring Maasai Mara Reserve
You go on an early morning game drive to explore the reserve, then have a picnic lunch in the reserve. Then you go on a full-day game drive to explore the reserve and see wildlife. Dinner and the night are at Mara Sekenani Camp.
Day 6: Exploring Maasai Mara Reserve
You go on an early morning game drive to explore the reserve, then have leisure time at the camp. Then you go on an afternoon game drive to explore the reserve. Dinner and the night are at Mara Sekenani Camp.
Day 7: Maasai Mara Reserve – Kakamega Forest
You check out and drive to Kakamega Forest. After checking in at Rondo Retreat Center and having lunch, you go on an afternoon game drive to explore the forest and see wildlife. Dinner and the night are at Rondo Retreat Center.
Day 8: Kakamega Forest
You spend the full day exploring Kakamega Forest, focusing on birdwatching. Lunch, dinner and the night are at Rondo Retreat Center.
Day 9: Kakamega Forest – Amboseli National Park
You check out and drive to Amboseli National Park. After checking in at Hillstone Safari Lodge and having lunch, you go on an afternoon game drive to explore the park and see wildlife. Dinner and the night are at Hillstone Safari Lodge.
Days 10–11: Exploring Amboseli National Park
You go on an early morning game drive to witness wildlife. You can add an optional visit to a Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditions. Then you explore the park to see elephants and other wildlife. Dinner and the night are at Hillstone Safari Camp.
Day 12: Return to Nairobi
After breakfast and check-out, you drive back to Nairobi. You are dropped off at your hotel/pick-up location/airport.
