Day 2: Full Day at Masai Mara

You will have two game drives today, in the morning before breakfast and in the late afternoon. Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best times to spot animals as they are most active. To get some of the best wildlife viewing of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of the sun. This is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic photography, thanks to the beautiful lighting. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

You arrive in the flamingo-fringed Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. You will embark on a comprehensive game drive of this scenic park, including visits to viewpoints, which offer superb photo opportunities. Lake Nakuru is one of several Rift Valley lakes, and its ecosystem supports a wide ecological diversity, with flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals, including the white rhino and Buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.

Dinner and overnight at Nakuru Sopa Lodge

Day 5: Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

Depart for Amboseli after breakfast and arrive in time for check in and lunch. Later in the afternoon have your game drive at the Park. Amboseli National Park is situated due south of Nairobi. Most of the park consists of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland. In the southern area, there are several small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the swamps of Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms. The park is known as the best place to view large herds of elephants up close.
