Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, and night game drives (optional) to spot nocturnal creatures such as aardvarks and honey badgers. You can head out on a black rhino tracking experience, guided bush walk, horse riding, a cultural visit to Maasai villages and markets, or take a magical hot air balloon flight over the plains of the Maasai Mara, which can be arranged at an extra cost, followed by a beautiful breakfast.
Dinner and overnight stay at Zebra Plains Mara.
DAY 02: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
You will be taken on two game drives today, in the morning before breakfast and in the late afternoon. Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best time to spot animals as they are most active. To get some of the best game viewing of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of the sun. This is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic photography, thanks to the beautiful lighting. Although it might be tempting to stay in bed and wait until the afternoon to explore. This is an experience that will surely create lifetime memories. If you are fortunate enough you will catch lions during one of their rare bouts of daytime activities. It’ll be fascinating to watch the social interaction between pride members especially the playful ways of lion cubs under the watchful eyes of their mothers. The reserve is famous for its wildebeest migration.
Dinner and overnight stay at Zebra Plains Mara.
DAY 03: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE – LAKE NAIVASHA NATIONAL PARK
You will have an early morning drive to Lake Naivasha. It is the highest and the most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes. Naivasha is yet another area popular for bird watching (over 400 species). There are no crocodiles in the lake as the water is too cold for them, due to altitude but there are a number of hippos. An optional boat ride can be organized at an extra cost. You will also visit Crescent Island. It can be described as a garden, an animal sanctuary or simply a little paradise. If you enjoy nature photography, then you will be overwhelmed by the beauty that Crescent Island holds. From small to big animals and birds, the sunset hits the water’s surface and the lush green vegetation that covers the space. Most of the animals here are herbivores such as giraffes, zebras, impalas and hippos.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Naivasha Country Club.
DAY 04: LAKE NAIVASHA – TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
You will start the day with an early morning breakfast before departing for Tsavo West National Park which is a 5 hours drive. You’ll check in at the lodge early in the afternoon and have lunch.
