Itinerary

15 DAY BUDGET SAFARI PACKAGE

Day 1 – 2: Nairobi – Meru National Park

Depart Nairobi at 7:00 am and drive directly to the Meru National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch. You will have your lunch then relax for some time before starting your afternoon game drive
In this untamed wilderness until dusk. Meru National Park is the home to many other animals as well, including cheetah, hippo, zebra, giraffe, hartebeest, oryx, oribi, waterbuck and many more.

Day 3: Meru National Park – MT. Kenya Safari Club

We embark on an early morning game drive in search of the wild animals in the plains for which this area is world famous for.

After breakfast we depart for Mt. Kenya Safari Club. Rested on the circle of Mt Kenya, the club has been frequented by the who is who in Wildlife and many more celebrities including William Holden have owned it at one point or another

Lunch at leisure. We do not conduct game drives in Mt Kenya owing to the dense nature of the surrounding environment. There are a lot of activities to do-horse riding, guided nature walks, visit of the zigzagging puzzle, where many weddings are held

Day 4: Mount Kenya – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, there will be a morning pick up, as we drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park is Known all over the world for its flamingos. The lake is alkaline and recognized as being one of the Natural Wonders of the World. You’ll arrive at the flamingo fringed Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch and check –in. In the afternoon we will embark on a comprehensive game drive of this scenic park including visits to view points, which offer superb photo opportunities. Lake Nakuru is one of several Rift Valley lakes and its ecosystem supports a wide ecological diversity with flamingos [greater and lesser] and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhinos and buffalos and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering 450 species

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Kakamega forest

Depart Lake Nakuru and head to an isolated remnant of the equatorial rain forest that once spread over Africa from west to east. It contains an excellent representation of bird, animal, and plant species including an array of primates. Kakamega forest through Eldoret. Kakamega forest’s avifauna is rich and unusual in its composition. Two globally threatened species reside here, Chapins Flycatcher and Turners Eremomela. The avifauna is unique nationally and also continentally; the forest holds large populations of Black and white colobus and Red tailed monkeys among others. Dinner and Overnight stay at Rondo Retreat Center (BLD).

Day 6 -7: Kakamega Forest

A Full day birds exploring the eastern most extension of the great tropical rain forest stretching from Congo forest. This forest is renowned for its richness in bird life and species including, Turners Eremomela, Black billed Turaco, Great blue turaco, Cameroon Sombre Green bull, Little grey Green bull, Yellow Bellied Wattle eye, Purple-throated cuckoo, Hairy Breasted Barbet, Grey breasted Illadopsis, African Grey Parrot, Square tailed drongo and Chapins Flycatcher. Lunch, Dinner and Overnight stay will be at Rondo Retreat Center (BLD).

Day 8: Kakamega Forest – Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast check out from the resort and proceed to Maasai Mara, (approx. 5 hrs. drive. Arrive at the camp in time for lunch. “The Magical Mara” is one of Kenya’s best loved reserves. It is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Each year, Mara is the staging ground for the “Great Migration”, one of the awe-inspiring natural events of the world. After lunch depart for an afternoon game drive where you shall have the opportunity to view the “Big Five” namely the Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and the Leopard. The Mara is also known for the abundance of lions.

Day 9: Full Day Maasai Mara

Today shall be a game-viewing extravaganza! Maasai Mara game reserve remains the most exciting wildlife ecosystem. It is a host to the highest and most varied concentration for wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region. The scenic appeal of the tree studded savanna plains; the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species make it a one stop shop for game viewing activities. We shall traverse the Maasai Mara on a full day unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game. Picnic lunch shall be by the Mara river as we watch Hippos and Crocodiles.

Return back to Sekenani camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Exploring Maasai Mara

After breakfast, you will leave for a full-day game drive carrying a packed picnic lunch: The reserve is well known for its black-manned lions and is one of the few places where you have the chance to see the Big Five during an early morning game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under safari vehicles and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these include 16 species of eagle, many hawks and falcon, 6 species of vulture, 8 species of stork, 4 of bustard, and 9 species of sunbird.

Day 11: Maasai Mara Reserve – Lake Naivasha National Park

You will have an early morning drive to Lake Naivasha. It is the highest and the most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes. Naivasha is yet another area popular for birdwatching [over 400 species]. There are no crocodiles in the lake as the water is too cold for them, due to altitude but there are a number of hippos. An optional boat ride can be organized at an extra cost. You will also visit Crescent Island. It can be described as a garden, an animal sanctuary or simply a little paradise. If you enjoy photography, then you will be overwhelmed by the beauty that crescent Island holds. From small to big animals and birds, the sunset hits the water’s surface and the lush green vegetation that covers the space. Most of the animals here are herbivores such as the giraffes, zebras, impalas and hippos.

Day 12: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

Have an early morning breakfast, check out and leave for Amboseli National Park. There will be a stop to view the incredible Rift Valley scenery as you proceed to Amboseli. Lunch will be taken on the way. You will arrive in time for check-in. After relaxation, proceed for an evening game drive. Amboseli is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape above the open plains. Amboseli is also one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here, ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli to wetlands with sulfur springs, the savannah, and woodlands.

Day 13 -14: Exploring Amboseli National Park

You’ll rise up early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit with a packed lunch provided. An optional visit to a Maasai village can be planned after breakfast (at an extra cost). The visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in the whole of Africa to experience elephants at a close range. Left carefree, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps must form the highlights of any safari.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at Aa lodge.

Day 15: Return to Nairobi

Drive and head back to Nairobi in the afternoon optional city excursions depending on your departure time. lunch or dinner at carnivore or safari park hotel they both offer the best African barbeque
