DAY 01: NAIROBI TO SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
Depart from Nairobi and drive to Samburu National Reserve for approximately 6 hours. The drive from Nairobi to Samburu offers scenic views of Kenya’s diverse landscapes from bustling cityscapes to the serene countryside. Upon arrival, you will check in at your accommodation, have lunch and relax. Embark on an evening game drive to see Samburu’s unique wildlife including the ‘Samburu Special Five’ [Grevy’s Zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk and Beisa Oryx. Return to your accommodation, unwind, and enjoy dinner while overlooking the beautiful landscapes.Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu simba lodge.
DAY 02: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
Embark on an early morning game drive to spot predators like leopards and lions. The cool morning air and golden light make for perfect photography conditions. Relax at the camp/lodge and enjoy the amenities and perhaps a dip in the pool. Visit a Samburu village to dive into the local culture and traditions, enriching your safari experience.
DAY 03: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE – ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK
Early breakfast and depart for Aberdare National Park for approximately 1 hour. Enjoy the changing landscapes from arid plains to lush highlands. Arrive and check into your lodge. After lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive. This is a great time to spot elephants, buffalos and various antelope species. If time permits, visit Chania Falls for some beautiful scenery and photo opportunities. Return to your lodge for dinner. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the sounds of the park.Dinner and overnight stay at Naromoru river lodge.
DAY 04: ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK
Start your day with an early morning game drive. The cool hours are ideal for spotting wildlife, including leopards and hyenas. Take some time birdwatching. Aberdare is home to over 250 bird species, including the endangered Aberdare Cisticola. Head to Karuru Falls, one of the park’s most impressive waterfalls. It’s a great spot for a picnic lunch and some relaxation. If you prefer, have lunch at the historic Treetops Lodge, known for its unique setting and wildlife viewing opportunities. Explore the pack on foot with a guided nature walk or hike. This is a great way to see the park’s diverse flora and fauna up close. You can have an optional game drive at Solio Ranch, renowned for its successful rhino breeding program, home to over 200 black and white rhinos. The ranch also offers a sense of privacy and exclusivity with its limited number of visitors.
DAY 05: ABERDARE – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will leave Aberdare for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive takes you around the lake; home of the famous pink flamingo. Lake Nakuru houses Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and one of the largest concentrations of black rhinoceros in the world, a large population of white rhinos. The park features the picturesque Makalia Waterfalls. Also of interest is an area of 188 km around the lake fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild Giraffes. Among predators are lions, leopards, large pythons hiding in the dense woodlands which may occasionally be seen crossing roads or dangling from trees. Other game includes Thompsons and Grant Gazelle, long- eared leaf nosed bats, colobus monkeys, rock hyraxes, waterbucks, impalas, striped hyena, wildcats, reedbucks and golden cats. Dinner and overnight at Ziwa bush lodge .
DAY 06: LAKE NAKURU – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Depart Lake Nakuru for Amboseli National Park. Arrive, check in and have lunch. Embark on your first game drive. Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Visit the observation Hill for panoramic views of the park and its swamps which are teeming with wildlife. The park has recorded over 400 bird species including kingfishers, pelicans, and the endangered Malagasy Pond Heron. Return to your camp for dinner and relaxation, enjoying the serene evening under the African sky.Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Eco camp.
DAY 07: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Start your day with an early morning game drive to catch the wildlife at their most active. Experience the breathtaking sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro. The cool morning hours are ideal for spotting wildlife such as lions, buffaloes, zebras, cheetahs, leopards, lions and hyenas. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Leisure time to relax at the lodge/camp or explore the lodge’s amenities. Have lunch at the lodge/camp. Optional visit to a local Maasai village to learn about the Maasai culture and traditions. Afternoon game drive to explore more of Amboseli’s landscapes and wildlife. Don’t forget to capture stunning photos of the scenery and animals. Return to your accommodation for dinner and a relaxing evening.
DAY 08: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK– TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
Arrive in Tsavo West from Amboseli and check-in at your Ngulia safari lodge. Start with a visit to Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear water flows from the lava rocks, creating an oasis frequented by hippos and crocodiles. Explore the Shetani Lava Flow, an impressive geological formation from ancient volcanic activity. It’s a great spot for photography and short hikes. Enjoy a sunset game drive, looking out for wildlife such as elephants, lions, and leopards. Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
DAY 09: TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK – TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK
Drive to Tsavo East and begin with a visit to Aruba Dam, a popular spot where animals come to Lview of the park and the natural dam below, often frequented by herds of elephants and other wildlife. Visit Lugard Falls in the afternoon, a series of picturesque rapids on the Galana River, and enjoy a picnic lunch nearby. Return to your lodge for dinner and a final night under the African sky. Prepare for departure the next day.Dinner and overnight stay at Voi safari lodge.
DAY 10: TSAVO EAST NAIROBI – NAIROBI
After breakfast, depart for Nairobi where you’ll be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
